THIS IS YOUR STORY

make it count

Once upon a time...

I always remember talking to a guy who'd written two novels. He'd never shown them to anyone because he was afraid of being told they were no good. I spoke to him the day before he died and he said that he wished he'd had them published. It broke my heart. I never wanted that to happen to anyone again.

Being an indie author isn't about whether you self-publish or work with a traditional publisher

Indie is a state of mind

Dragon
  • Dragged down by rejection letters?

  • Struggling with a submission package?

  • Finding writing the synopsis harder than writing the novel?

  • Worried about self-publishing?

  • Worried about self-publicising?

  • Worried about Social Media?

Every project is made up of two parts: all the things you have to do

and all the things you didn't realise you have to do

You've drafted and re-drafted, polished and proofread. Your book is ready to publish. At this point it feels like you have two routes available to you.

  • Self-publish

  • Find an agent

Actually, there is a third option. A bridge between the two. I was lucky enough to belong to Frome Writers' Collective, and I cannot tell you how valuable their imprint was. Ørma would not be the book it is without their support, guidance and wisdom. To be honest, I'm not sure it would be a book at all.

Silver Crow is a service run by the Frome Writers’ Collective (F.W.C.).
It was set up to provide F.W.C. members with a cost-effective service and stepping stone on the journey to getting published.
All books submitted to Silver Crow
are screened by trained readers and an F.W.C. trustee, with a final report then discussed with the writer. Those authors whose books meet the brand criteria are entitled to use
the Silver Crow logo, indie-publish with selected publishing partners and participate in joint marketing opportunities.
We believe this concept offers a friendly alternative to the often daunting task of producing and promoting your masterpiece in isolation.
We are currently seeking submissions from writers of adult, Y.A. and children’s fiction and non-fiction.
For enquiries, email or phone:  fromewriterscollective@gmail.co.uk or 01373 452541
